Hub 3 Thank You Coronavirus

Poem

Dear Masterton Community.

As we come to week 4 of lockdown for the Covid 19 outbreak, we have had a chance to think about what is important to us. In difficult times, where everything can seem bad, we should look at the good things. We have gotten to spend time with families and learn many new things. We got to slow down and think about what we really need in our lives. I’ve realised how special my parents are to me. Dad is around the house more and Mum cooks lots more yummy meals for us. My teachers have been working hard, to keep my lessons and learning going. I would like to thank the community. The people that stayed home, and the essential workers who were on the front lines protecting us. I’m thankful for the people who deliver supplies to people who can’t leave the house, helping those who are most in need. The Covid 19 outbreak has been hard, but it has brought our community closer together, and it will stay that way even when we can go back outside.

Jack Bremner

This world is facing a hard challenge. This challenge depends on us. We are connected to each other so we can be a team to fight this challenge not just by ourselves but together as one.

Dear coronavirus,

Thank you for being a part of my life.

I have enjoyed the 4 weeks I have had with my family.

Having the time to learn in a new way has been very fun.

I have been learning how to control a vineyard.

I got to help harvest the grapes AKA( picking the grapes) because usually i wouldn't get to help I would be at school.

I am very grateful for not polluting the planet because we're not going out in cars so much.

We have been having cooking competitions, biking and swimming.

I have been practicing swimming for the regionals if that is still on.

Once again, I am very grateful for the time to have with my family.

Its is been a wonderful time

Thank you coronavirus

The stories are true

But are they?

The luxury life we live we take for granted

We have the time to focus on what really matters

Yes, this virus has hurt us but it has made us stronger

Our family bonds have strengthened,

We get to do the things that we would not have done before,

It is a great time to reflect on what has happened in our lives

Our lives are precious let’s not waste them

Dear Coronavirus

Thank you for making more time for my family to come together and have some time at home instead of going into town. We have had lots of fun because of you we have had family cook-offs and it has been very fun thank once again coronavirus.

From John Bell

Thank you for the families to bring us all together.

The dogs in the whanau love the walks in any weather.

Or it might be time to go outside to see the bright of day.

But be careful the COVID-19 might come your way.

We have discovered washing hands is the way to go.

Weren’t we washing our hands before? well , obviously no.

Gloves and face masks have become the new fashion.

But don’t forget when you take them off to throw them in the bin.

Trips to the shops have gone out the door.

Only one person can go now, but make sure that they buy more.

Soap, sanitiser, toilet paper are worth their weight in gold.

No-ones seen lines like this, panic buyings left nothing for the old.

They must take a list that must be long, and don’t hang around the aisle.

Keep two meters away but don’t forget to smile.

Kids have to stay at home and their learning must go on.

Teachers are now online to help, no more sport and no more song.

Home is where we must stay and learn.

Our parents have to teach us, it’s time they had their turn.

We need to keep quiet as mum and dad work from home.

We have to keep our voices down to keep them in the zone.

We’ve been told we are allowed out but only once a day.

There’s not much to do inside we just want to go and play.

Dogs and buggies are everywhere, people smile and wave.

Level four has changed us, more friendliness it gave.

The schools and parks are empty, no-one there to see.

The swings and slides can’t be touched, the virus lives on these.

Essential workers keep us going, supermarkets to hospitals and more.

They stay away from their families they can’t go through their door.

Around the globe at 7:00pm everyone claps for them.

Silent angels doing their work, we pray for them, AMEN.

Everyday at 1:00pm we listen to our leader.

She gives us updates from the beehive, our PM streams online.

No-ones seen a pandemic like this since the spanish flu.

Donald Trump's still ignoring it, the States are in the poo!

We're lucky to have Jasinda the mother of our nation, everyday we hear these words:

STAY HOME, BE KIND, SAVE LIVES.

Dear essential workers

Thank you for putting in extra hard work in this tough time. Don't worry, your work does not go unnoticed, I am very grateful. You have put your life on the line for us and that is amazing thank you for everything you have done, I would like to give a special thank you to my dad he works for Arjo who supplies for the hospital and other people who need hospital equipment, my mum also works for an essential business which is the Rural Post Rd1 and Rd3 and she works with uncle Prem which is fun for her, While mum and dad are out working, I go to Robyn’s house for child care which is nice and there are lots more people I could thank but that was a special thank you to them. So overall thank you essential workers for your hard work and once again thank you.

Dear members of parliament

Thank you for keeping us safe from Covid 19 you have done above and beyond so thank you. You have made tough decisions under a lot of pressure and I strongly believe they are the right ones. I would like to give a special thanks to Jacinda Ardern, Winston Peters and Simon Bridges who have supplied special safety equipment doctors and nurses.
